Sweely Estate Winery sits at the foothills of the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains in Madison County, Virginia. The origin of Sweely Estate Winery began in 2004 when the Sweely Family purchased the historic Weaver farm in Madison.

They already knew what they wanted to do with this property: plant a vineyard; make world-class wine from an expertly managed vineyard; share their passions for great food, wine and art in an old-world styled hospitality center; provide guests with educational opportunities in these areas; and last, but clearly not least, create an elegant event facility with outdoor areas and breathtaking views.
The Sweely Family is already renowned for their Acorn Hill Farm, an equestrian center run by one of the Sweely daughters, with a full-service breeding and training facility. Now, Sweely Estate Winery affords yet another opportunity to continue the family's commitment to being good stewards of the land of Madison County.
The equestrian connection is already reflected in our logo. The retail boutique will also offer equestrian-related gift items. In the future, wine and equestrian enthusiasts will be able to enjoy both passions when we present a variety of equestrian events.
